Mitch Lamoureux

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

A former National Hockey League player, Mitch Lamoureux enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Lebanon Valley College ice hockey team after joining the squad midway through the 2006-07 season.

Lamoureux played in 73 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers from 1983-88. One of Mario Lemieux’s first pro teammates, he finished his career with 11 goals and nine assists. He also carved out a legendary career for the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears from 1986-89, 1993-95, and 1997-99, and was a member of the Bears’ Calder Cup champion team in 1988. Lamoureux’s jersey number was retired by the Bears and hangs from the rafters of the Hersheypark Arena, where Lebanon Valley plays its home games.

Lamoureux’s son, Corey, graduated from LVC in 2008 and was a member of the ice hockey and baseball teams.
