Lebanon Valley College Athletics

Terry Barlet

Terry Barlet will enter his 16th year as an assistant coach with the Lebanon Valley College men’s basketball team in 2018-19.

Working with LVC's guards, Barlet has mentored multiple standouts for the Dutchmen, including all-Americans Sam Light '18, Kevin Agnew '15, J.D. Byers '05, and Anthony Trautman '11, as well as 1,000-point scorers Joe Meehan '12 and Jimmy Curran '07.

In 2017-18, Barlet helped lead LVC to its first outright conference championship since 1995, earning the program an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the first time in more than a decade. The Dutchmen earned a thrilling 81-79 win over longtime rival Albright in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Game before bowing out to No. 18 Middlebury in the first round of NCAA play. Light earned a D-III News All-America Honorable Mention nod, while Andy Orr picked up CoSIDA Academic All-America Third-Team recognition. Light was named to the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List and Orr became the program's third player to be named a Josten's Trophy Top-10 Finalist. Both players added all-region recognition from the NABC, D3hoops.com, and the ECAC. LVC won three games against nationally-ranked competition and the squad as a whole was named the NABC Division III National Team of the Week in early January.

Before arriving in Annville, Barlet had been an assistant coach for five years under head coach Paul Blackburn at Lebanon High School. He held the same position previously at Lebanon Catholic High School. Every high school varsity team he has been associated with as a player or coach has qualified for the district playoffs.

As a player, Barlet, a 1982 graduate of Lebanon High, also helped the Cedars qualify for the PIAA state tournament. Barlet, who earned a degree in telecommunications at Kutztown University in 1986, currently teaches mathematics at Northern Lebanon Middle School.

He resides in Lebanon, Pa. with his wife, Sharon.
