Mike Donghia

Mike Donghia, LVC’s defensive coordinator, is in his seventh season at Lebanon Valley in 2010.

Donghia is in his third season guiding the defense after four years as running backs coach. In LVC's successful 2009 campaign, Donghia ran one of the league's best defenses, which allowed just over 300 yards per game and just 98 yards per game on the ground, while leading the league in sacks and causing 25 turnovers. The defense carried LVC to a dramatic ECAC Southwest Bowl win, holding Salisbury's triple-option to just 184 yards of total offense and generating a defensive touchdown (by most outstanding player Alex Gilchrist on a fumble return) and a safety (by Bruno Iozzo).

In 2008, Donghia coached the MAC's top-rated defensive unit, which included Brian Cottone '09, who became the program's first-ever MAC Defensive Player of the Year.

While mentoring LVC’s running backs, Donghia helped several standouts develop into stars, including Charlie Parker, who broke LVC’s single-season rushing record in 2007 with 1,105 yards.

Donghia came to LVC after 15 years of high school coaching experience, including  a highly-successful stay at Middletown High School, where he was the head coach from 1996-2003. He led his team to a perfect 10-0 regular season record and a Mid-Penn Capital Division championship in both 1999 and 2000. Donghia was also the head coach at Brookville (Pa.) High School from 1989-95 and led his team to three District 9 titles. A graduate of Edinboro University, he also served as an assistant at Santaluces Community (Fla.) High School from 1984-88 and at Linesville (Pa.) High School from 1980-83.

Donghia resides in Middletown with his wife, Amy.
