Lou Orndorff

Lou Orndorff is in the eighth season of his second stint at Lebanon Valley College. In 2012, he will serve as a defensive assistant and work with the punting unit. He had previously mentored LVC’s outside linebackers.

From 1997-2004, he served as an assistant coach at Dallastown High School, where he has been the assistant principal since 1988. Orndorff has also been a head coach at Dallastown (1989-92), James Buchanon (1981-82), and West York (1970-73) high schools. In addition, he was a volunteer assistant under Monos at LVC in 1995 and 1996.

Orndorff has mentored a string of talented outside linebackers in his tenure, including LVC’s first-ever MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Brian Cottone ’09, and all-region pick Alex Gilchrist ’11.

A 1969 graduate of Shippensburg University, Orndorff was a four-year letterwinner for the Red Raiders. He received Honorable Mention All-State and First Team All-PSAC honors as a senior. Orndorff and his wife, Nancy, reside in York. They are the parents of two children, Laura and Ben, and four grandchildren: Sophie, Jackson, Carson, and Xavier.
