Carol Miller

Carol Miller arrived at LVC in 2011 and has guided the Dutchmen to success, including four straight postseason appearances.

Miller, the 2009 NCAA Division I National Coach of the Year, had spent 18 seasons at her alma mater, Delaware, where she led the Blue Hens to three conference titles and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2009. She was introduced as the ninth coach in LVC history on June 21, 2011.

In her debut season with the Dutchmen, Miller led LVC to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic title, led by Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and all-American Jocelyn Novak '12, who broke the NCAA Division III records for goals and points during her senior season. Novak was one of five players selected to the all-Commonwealth Conference teams, and LVC ended the season ranked 16th in the nation after a 17-5 campaign. LVC went 12-9 in 2012, again making an appearance in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic tournament behind five all-Commonwealth Conference players. In 2013 LVC went to the CC semifinals, and the program surged in 2014, breaking into the national rankings with a 15-5 record and CC and ECAC Tournament berths behind first-team all-American Lauren Brumbach.

Miller is no stranger to central Pennsylvania; she is a native of East Petersburg and graduate of Hempfield High School, where she is a member of the hall of fame, and spent eight years coaching field hockey, softball, and track & field at Millersville after graduating from Delaware. There, she guided the Marauders' field hockey team to five NCAA appearances, including an NCAA runner-up finish.

After departing Millersville for her alma mater in 1993, Miller led the Blue Hens to 12 postseason appearances, including a pair of conference titles (2004 and 2009) and NCAA appearances. In 2009, she was named the womensfieldhockey.com Division I National Coach of the Year following a 14-6 campaign that saw Delaware win the CAA title and advance to the NCAA Tournament while earning a #11 ranking from the NFHCA.

In 30 seasons as a head coach at Millersville, Delaware, and LVC, Miller has a 355-240-18 combined record, including 194-159 at UDel. She is a member of both the Delaware and Millersville halls of fame.

As a leader within the field hockey community, Miller has served on numerous committees during her coaching career, including as Division II president of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (1990-91), Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year Committee Chair (2006-08), and Regional All-American Committee (1987-89 and 2002-05). She has been involved in coaching the United States Field Hockey Association Developmental/FUTURES program since 1982, and holds Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications from the USFHA.
