Zach Haas joined the Lebanon Valley College baseball team’s staff as an Assistant Coach before the start of the 2022 season. He primarily works with the program’s catchers and is also the First Base Coach.
During his time with the Dutchmen, the club has won two conference titles and earned two NCAA Tournament appearances. Haas has worked with all of the catchers on the team during his tenure, including three-time All-Conference honoree Jace Fetterman. In 2022 and 2023, Fetterman was named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Second Team. In 2025, the catcher was selected as the MAC Freedom Player of the Year while being listed on the All-MAC Freedom First Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region 4 Second Team, and the D3baseball.com All-Region 4 Third Team.
Before joining Lebanon Valley, Haas was an Assistant Coach at Alvernia University from 2013 to 2017, where he was the First Base Coach and worked with catchers and first basemen. In 2015, Haas helped guide the club to winning the MAC Commonwealth Championship. During his time at Alvernia, Haas worked with catcher James Bertolotti, who was an All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team selection in 2016. He also coached first baseman Cameron Coons, an All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team selection in 2015, the All-MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year in 2016, and an All-MAC Commonwealth First Team selection in 2017.
Additionally, Haas was an Assistant Coach for the Berkshire Red Sox from 2010 to 2012. Before coaching for Berkshire, he served as the Head Baseball Coach at Wyomissing Area High School from 2004 to 2009, where the team qualified for the district playoffs three times in five years.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Haas was a four-year starting catcher for Arcadia University from 1997 to 2001. He was an All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) selection in 1998, leading his team in slugging percentage, hits, RBIs, doubles, and total bases. Haas also earned All-Academic honors during all four years he attended Arcadia. He graduated from the university in 2001 with a degree in Psychobiology.
Haas serves as the Operations Manager for the Red Lion Café, Inc. in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, a family restaurant that has been in business for over 65 years. He has held this position since 2018.
