The Dutchmen defeated the host Cardinals 3-1 in the first match of the day and then dropped a 3-0 decision to Christopher Newport University.

Match One vs. Catholic (26-24, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17)
The first set went the distance, with LVC using a late rally to take the set. Catholic scored the first two points of the match and built a 6-3 lead. The Dutchmen responded with a 7-0 run with back-to-back service aces by Hadley Sparks in the middle of the run. The Cardinals answered with a 4-1 rally to get within one point. A service error, a Jasmine Sullivan ace, and a Jillian Jefferys kill gave LVC a 14-10 lead. The teams battled back and forth before the Dutchmen used a 5-1 run to go up 23-18 following a Riley Mack kill. Catholic responded with the next six points to get to set point. Mack put away an overpass to keep the set alive, and after another point for the Dutchmen, Teaguen Reynolds ended the set on a big block at the net.

The Dutchmen used a 5-1 run to get within one point at 18-17 following a Libby Lindau block. Catholic answered with the next three points. LVC battled but were unable to get any closer in the set, and the Cardinals tied the match up with a 25-21 set victory.

The Dutchmen started the third set strong as four different players recorded points and a service ace by Brooke Olejniczak gave LVC a 7-1 advantage. The Cardinals countered with a run of their own to take a 12-10 lead. The Dutchmen responded with a 6-0 run, with Molly Thomas serving to retake the lead. They were able to extend the advantage to 19-14 following an ace from Jasmine Sullivan. LVC led 24-19 before the Cardinals made things interesting with four consecutive points.
