RADNOR, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College football team battled for four quarters on the road Saturday afternoon against a strong Eastern University squad, ultimately falling 32-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference action.
Despite the result, the Dutchmen showed plenty of fight throughout the contest. LVC's defense repeatedly forced the defending conference champions and preseason favorites to earn every yard, including stopping the Eagles on an early drive when a missed field goal kept the game scoreless. The Dutchmen also benefited from multiple Eastern penalties that erased touchdowns, helping keep the contest tight through much of the first half.
Offensively, Lebanon Valley moved the ball in stretches behind the play of quarterback
Osmany Guzman and running back
Jayden Stanfield. The Dutchmen pieced together several sustained drives, including a first-half possession that featured completions to
Trey Freeman and Stanfield before reaching midfield. Stanfield provided a spark late in the second quarter with a 15-yard run that moved LVC into Eastern territory.
The Dutchmen trailed just 12-0 at halftime after the defense held Eastern scoreless for much of the opening half and forced the Eagles to settle for long drives.

Anthony Pez, and the rest of the LVC defense were active throughout the afternoon, combining for several key stops and tackles in the open field.
Lebanon Valley opened the second half with one of its best drives of the day. Guzman connected with
Noah Hoff and used his legs to convert a third-and-long situation as the Dutchmen marched near midfield before a penalty halted the momentum.
Special teams and defense also produced notable moments. Bent blocked an Eastern extra point attempt in the third quarter.
Bradley Weder and
Owen Chernich each recorded forced fumbles in the fourth quarter as LVC continued to compete despite the score.
Inside the Box
- Guzman led the Dutchmen offense, completing 9-of-14 passes for 48 yards while adding a team-high 39 rushing yards on 10 carries, including multiple first-down runs.
- Stanfield contributed on the ground and in the air, recording 14 rushing yards, including a game-long 15-yard run, and adding three receptions for seven yards.
- Trey Freeman paced the receiving corps with two catches for 12 yards.
- Klein led the Dutchmen with eight total tackles (3 solo, 5 assisted) and added 0.5 tackles for loss.
- McCallion finished with six tackles and a pass breakup.
- Baughman recorded six tackles, including several key stops against Eastern's rushing attack.
- Bent posted six tackles and blocked an extra point in the third quarter.
- Kaies Handy totaled six tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
- Chernich notched six tackles and forced a fourth-quarter fumble.
- Weder recorded three tackles and forced a fumble near the goal line in the fourth quarter.
- Jake Musselman punted six times for 232 yards and averaged 38.7 yards per punt, with a long of 46
