ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team began conference play with a doubleheader sweep of FDU-Florham and King's College on Saturday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The Dutchmen made quick work of the Devils and Monarchs, winning 7-0 in both matches, with the matches taking less than a combined three hours.
LVC (11-3, 2-0 MAC Freedom) began the afternoon with an efficient 7-0 victory over FDU-Florham, where only seven matches were played due to the Devils only bringing five players. The Dutchmen quickly won the two doubles matches without dropping a game. They then swept the five singles matches, with FDU winning a total of two games. After a short break, the Dutchmen took on King's College who only traveled with four players. The Dutchmen swept through all six matches that were played against the Monarchs without dropping a game.
Inside the Boxes
- Gigi Guay and Katie Berra were the only two Dutchmen to play singles in both matches. Berra had a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories at number two, while Guay also earned 6-0, 6-0 victories at number three. Guay earned a forfeit win at number three doubles in the match against FDU-Florham. The senior is 6-0 in singles this season with three double bagels. Berra improved to 9-1 in dual matches with four double bagels.
- Sarah McComas and Catherine Stone were each 3-0 on the day, winning one singles match and two doubles matches apiece. McComas won 6-0, 6-1 at number one singles against FDU-Florham, while Stone was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number one against King's. McComas has won three singles matches in a row, while Stone is on a 10-match winning streak and is undefeated during dual matches this year.
- Ella Stauffer won 6-0, 6-1 at number four singles against the Devils and picked up a forfeit victory in singles and doubles against the Monarchs.
- Marissa Nicholson recorded her first career double bagel with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number four singles against the Monarchs. She also earned a forfeit victory against FDU-Florham.
- Zowie Zokuskie played in one match and earned three forfeit victories. She was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number five singles in the match against FDU-Florham.
- Nikki Denbowski earned two doubles wins, while Emily Bryant and Erika Badner had a win in doubles each.

LVC will hit the road on Saturday, April 11, for a big 1 p.m. match at Misericordia University. The Dutchmen and Cougars have battled for the second seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament each of the past two years.
