ANNVILLE, Pa. – Catherine Stone won twice on Thursday afternoon as the Lebanon Valley women's tennis team saw its winning streak come to an end with a tough 4-3 defeat to visiting Drew University at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
The Rangers (4-7) won two of the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match. The Dutchmen (9-3) were winners at number one doubles. The teams split the singles matches, with LVC earning wins at one, two, and six. The Rangers took courts three, four, and five, with the win at number four being the match clincher.
Inside the Box
- Stone and Erika Badner were 6-4 winners in doubles to improve to 3-1 as partners. Stone is 10-6 in doubles play this year, while Badner is 11-3.
- Katie Berra and Megan Martin dropped a 6-3 decision at number two doubles, while Sarah McComas and Nikki Denbowski fell 6-3 at number three.
- Stone overcame a slow start to win in three sets by a score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. The junior improved to 10-0 in dual matches this year and has won five three-setters.
- McComas also had a thrilling three-set victory at number one singles while also fighting off multiple match points in the third set. The junior won by a score of 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 for her fifth dual win of the season.
- Denbowski improved to 5-2 in dual play with a thrilling 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 victory at number six.

The Dutchmen will begin conference play on Saturday with two matches at the Shankroff Tennis Center. LVC will take on FDU-Florham at 1 p.m. before hosting King's College at 4 p.m.
