ANNVILLE, Pa. – Elizabeth Morgan had two goals and two assists to lead the Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team in an 18-4 defeat to 17th-ranked Rowan University on Wednesday at Arnold Field in Annville.
The nationally ranked Profs (1-0) got off to a strong start, scoring nine goals in the first quarter. Rowan was able to win the first four draw controls of the game and scored four times in the first 5:30. They added a woman-up goal and a free position goal over the next three minutes. Rowan scored three goals over a span of two minutes to push the advantage to 9-0 with four minutes to play in the quarter. LVC started to gain some momentum as

Kyla Hebert sent a shot high.
Gigi Ditsky made a big save with a minute to play, and LVC held possession through the end of the quarter.
The teams battled over the first four minutes of the second quarter. The Profs were able to score before LVC took advantage of the first Rowan card of the game.
Elizabeth Morgan scored her fifth goal of the year with the woman advantage. Hebert had a shot saved with 6:45 left in the half off a good clear attempt. Rowan closed the half strong scoring three goals over the final five minutes to take a 13-1 advantage into the break.
Rowan opened the second half with a goal. Ditsky made a pair of saves and then a stop on a free position attempt before Morgan found Hebert over the middle for her seventh goal of the season. The Profs responded with a woman-up free position goal three minutes later. The Dutchmen battled, and Morgan added an unassisted goal with about 40 seconds left in the quarter to cut the deficit to 12 heading into the fourth. Ditsky picked up a loose ball to begin the final quarter. Morgan then hit Whisler over the middle for her fifth goal of the year to make it 15-4.
Hannah Schneider put a shot high on a free position before Morgan had a shot go wide, and a shot was saved. The Profs scored three times over the final seven minutes to set the final.
Inside the Box
- Morgan led the Dutchmen with four points on two goals and two assists. The junior has recorded at least two assists in all three games this season. She scored the 65th goal of her career.
- Hebert scored the 34th goal of her career on four shots. The senior also won one draw control.
- Whisler scored her 74th career goal on one shot. The senior also picked up a ground ball.
- Katie Giusti led the team with three ground balls and one caused turnover.
- Annelise Vetter caused two turnovers and had one ground ball.
- Grace Marchese won three draw controls.
- Ditsky made 10 saves and picked up one ground ball.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will look to rebound on Saturday as they host Juniata College in the second game of a lacrosse doubleheader on Arnold Field. The opening draw is scheduled for 3 p.m. against the Eagles.
