Men’s Tennis Edges Scranton 4-3

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over host University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon at the Royal Tennis Courts in Scranton.
 
The Dutchmen (1-1) won all three doubles matches for the second consecutive dual match to begin the season. The teams then split the singles matches, with LVC earning wins at numbers two, five, and six.
 
Inside the Results
  • Mason Dissinger and Jake Erb were the first doubles court to finish with a 6-0 win at number three.
  • Jesse Beck and Zach Schrader clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at number one. They are now 2-0 when playing together.
  • Ethan Luu and Adam Warren wrapped up doubles with a 7-5 victory at number two. They rallied from being down 5-3 to win.
  • Dissinger made quick work at number five singles with a double bagel win of 6-0, 6-0. It is the first double bagel of his career.
  • Colin Brusse was next to finish at number six, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory to put the Dutchmen on the verge of winning the match.
  • Scranton won at number one singles and a three-setter at number four. Erb dropped the first set 6-3, won the second set 6-4, and dropped the third set 6-3.
  • Beck won the match for the Dutchmen at number two with his first three-setter of the season. The junior won 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.
  • Warren also went three sets at number three. He won the first set 6-3 before his opponent won the next two 7-6 (11-9), 6-4.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will play two home matches on Sunday at the Shankroff Tennis Center. LVC will take on Marymount University at 1 p.m. before hosting Division II Millersville University at 6 p.m.
