HOBOKEN, N.J. – Logan Brewer recorded five hits and three RBIs with a home run for the Lebanon Valley College Baseball team during the final two matchups of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Semifinal series against top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday, May 4, at Dobbelaar Baseball Field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. LVC battled until the final out in both contests while dropping 14-4 and 16-5 decisions to Stevens.

Game One
Hunter Williams started on the mound for the Dutchmen (22-19-1) and began his outing with a scoreless bottom of the first inning against the Ducks (27-14). The sophomore pitcher recorded the third out of the frame with a fielder's choice to shortstop Owen Berry, who flipped the ball to second baseman Dylan Mennillo to leave runners at the corners.

Lebanon Valley struck first in the top of the second, taking an early 2-0 lead. Brewer led off the inning with a single to center field and Kody Phillips followed this by lining a single that got past the center fielder, allowing Brewer to score on the error. Phillips also crossed the plate on the play, as the throw back to the infield was fielded by the pitcher, who attempted to catch the first-year advancing to third but threw the ball past the third baseman. Williams then retired Stevens in order in the bottom of the second, striking out the first two batters swinging before logging a flyout to center fielder Spencer Butz

The Ducks hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning, taking a 3-2 advantage. Stevens then scored seven in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 10-2 game during an inning that included two RBI singles, two sacrifice flies, and a three-run home run. In the bottom of the fifth, the Ducks added four more runs to advance the score to 14-2.

Kyle McCracken pitched a scoreless bottom of the sixth for the Flying Dutchmen, notching the final two outs of the inning with a popout to Mennillo at second base and a flyout to right fielder Kenny Palmieri. Lebanon Valley then crossed the plate twice in the top of the seventh inning, making it a 14-4 contest. Mennillo led off the frame with a single to left field and advanced to second base on a wild pitch before Berry singled to left, putting runners on the corners. Butz later hit an RBI fielder's choice to second base, bringing in Mennillo. Brewer followed this with a single that got past the right fielder, allowing Butz to score from first base on the error.

Jordy Polanco entered the game to pitch for LVC in the bottom of the seventh inning and posted zero, registering the first two outs on a flyout to left fielder Ryan Murphy and a flyout to Butz in center field before tallying the third with a popout to Berry at shortstop to leave a runner at first base. Polanco then tossed a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth for the Dutchmen with a popout to third baseman Kameron Wetzel, a flyout to Palmieri in right field, and a strikeout swinging.
