ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Softball team had four student-athletes named Academic All-District® by College Sports Communicators (CSC) in a release by the professional organization earlier this week.
The Academic All-District® Softball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 90 percent of games or started in 66 percent of games this spring. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
The four Dutchmen honorees are
Julia Craig,
Megan Heard,
Nicole Kratz, and
Erin Pattillo.
Craig is a graduate student studying for her MBA from Chino Hills, California. The first baseman played in 41 games and made 38 starts. She had 24 hits including four doubles and one home run with 21 runs batted in and 10 runs scored this spring. In the field Craig made 235 putouts and had five assists. This is her third consecutive season earning Academic All-District honors.
Heard is a junior Exercise Science major from North Abington Township, Pennsylvania. The shortstop played, started in 42 games and was named to the All-MAC Freedom Second Team. She had 42 hits including four doubles and one triple, with 10 runs batted in and 27 runs scored. In the field Heard made 75 putouts and 105 assists. This is her second consecutive season earning Academic All-District honors.
Kratz is a junior Early Childhood Education and Special Education major from Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania. The third baseman played in 44 games, started 40 games, and was named to the All-MAC Freedom Second Team. She had 30 hits including 10 doubles, two triples, and three home runs, with 19 runs batted in and 21 runs scored. In the field Kratz made 34 putouts and 58 assists. This is her second consecutive season earning Academic All-District honors.
Pattillo is a senior Early Childhood Education and Special Education major from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The outfielder played in 41 games, made 39 starts, and was named to the All-MAC Freedom Second Team. She had 39 hits including four doubles with 20 runs batted in and 21 runs scored. In the field Pattillo made 60 putouts and 27 assists.
