LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lebanon Valley first-year second baseman and pitcher
Holly Grube was selected to the First Team All-Region in Region IV as a utility player by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) in a release by the organization.
NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region. All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 28 online and on-site at the NCAA Division III Finals banquet in Bloomington, Ill.
Grube, the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Rookie of the Year, earned First Team honors after an incredible rookie season where she led the Dutchmen with a .450 batting average with 63 hits including 11 doubles, four triples, and three home runs. Grube knocked in 29 runs and scored 30 times while stealing 11 bases. She ranks 44th in Division III in hits and recorded 18 multi-hit games during the season including eight three-hit games.
The first-year was also very effective in the pitching circle as she recorded a 13-8 record with two saves and a 2.75 ERA in 28 appearances. Grube-year struck out 50 batters in 118 innings and held opponents to a .261 batting average with four shutouts.
