ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Tennis team got out to a strong start and rode the momentum into a 5-2 victory over visiting Misericordia University on Sunday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The Senior Day victory allowed the Dutchmen to earn the second seed in the MAC Freedom Championship.
LVC (11-8, 5-1 MAC Freedom) earned the right to have home-court advantage for Wednesday's MAC Freedom Semifinal rematch with the Cougars (8-4, 4-2 MAC Freedom). The Dutchmen won the doubles point with victories at number two and three after Misericordia won number one doubles to begin the match. The Dutchmen won three of the first four singles matches to be completed to clinch the match victory and the teams split the final two matches.
Inside the Box
- Catherine Stone and Erika Badner were 6-2 winners at number two doubles to improve to 7-4 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
- Abbey DeLisio and Jenna Miner clinched the doubles point at number three with a 6-2 victory. The duo won their second consecutive conference match.
- The Dutchmen finished conference play with an excellent 15-3 doubles record.
- Sarah McComas gave LVC a 2-0 lead in the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number one singles. The junior earned her fourth consecutive win and improved to 4-2 in conference matches.
- Badner dropped a hard-fought three-set match at number two by a score of 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.
- Sarah Kramer gave the Dutchmen a huge win at number five winning 6-1, 6-2 to put the squad on the verge of clinching the match. She improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory.
- Katie Berra gave the Dutchmen the win with a 7-5, 6-0 victory at number four. The first-year won her ninth consecutive match and improved to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the MAC Freedom.
- Megan Martin won her first set in a tiebreaker before dropping a three-set match at number three by a score of 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 6-4.
- Miner finished out the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number six for her fifth straight win. She improved to 8-4 on the year and 4-0 in the conference.
- LVC had a strong 27-9 record in singles matches during conference play.

The second-seeded Dutchmen and the third-seeded Cougars will have a rematch on Wednesday at the Shankroff Tennis Center starting at 3:30 p.m. in the MAC Freedom Semifinals. Top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology will host Arcadia University in the other pairing.
