ANNVILLE, Pa. – Ethan Keenan led the Lebanon Valley Men's Lacrosse team with three goals and one assist in the final game of the season as the visiting Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology defeated the Dutchmen 21-7 on Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field. The Dutchmen held the annual Crosse Out Cancer game in the season finale against the Ducks.
11th-ranked Stevens (13-3, 7-0 MAC Freedom) outscored the Dutchmen (7-10, 2-5 MAC Freedom) 9-1 in the first quarter and scored the first six goals of the game. LVC won the opening faceoff but shots from Keenan and Bollinger went wide. The Ducks scored on their first offensive possession and didn't allow another LVC shot until a little over five minutes to go in the quarter as Bollinger had his shot saved.
Trey Ralston scored the Dutchmen's first goal with just under three minutes to play as Keenan sent a pass to an open Ralston cutting through the middle. The Ducks responded with three goals over the final two minutes of the quarter.
LVC started the second quarter with an extra-man opportunity and capitalized right away as Ralston found Keenan in front of the goal for his 25th goal of the year. Stevens responded with a goal nearly a minute late to take a 10-2 lead. Bollinger scored his 43rd goal of the year with a little under 10 minutes left on the clock as
Rowan Myers was credited with an assist on LVC second man-up goal of the game. Once again, the Ducks answered right back with a goal less than a minute later. The Ducks added to the lead with two goals in a span of 10 seconds right around the five-minute mark to go up by 10. Keenan scored his second goal of the game with 2:20 on the clock off an assist from Bollinger as the Dutchmen on a man-up opportunity. The Ducks scored twice in the final 90 seconds to take a 15-4 halftime lead.
Bollinger started the scoring in the second half with his second of the game as he powered through a defender and score. Stevens responded with four goals in a span of two minutes to go up 19-5. The Dutchmen scored their fourth man-up goal of the game as Kennan completed his hat trick off an assist from Ralston with just under six minutes on the clock. Stevens scored with 12 seconds left to take a 20-6 lead into the fourth quarter. The teams battled throughout the fourth quarter with only each team scoring a goal.
John Lux scored LVCs fifth man-up goal of the game with his 19th goal of the season with 8:40 left. The Ducks scored their goal in the final 10 seconds.
Inside the Box
- The Dutchmen had five goals on eight man-up opportunities.
- Keenan recorded his third hat trick of the year with three goals and one assist. He scored in all but three games this year and finished his sophomore season with 27 goals and seven assists.
- Ralston had three points on one goal and two assists. He finished his Dutchmen career with 197 points on 118 goals and 79 assists. He is ranked fourth in goals, third in points, and third in assists in program history.
- Bollinger also had three points on two goals and an assist. The attacker finished the year with 44 goals and 18 assists and ended his career as the program point leader with 266 points on 189 goals and 77 assists.
- Lux scored a goal for the second consecutive game. Myers added an assist.
- Easley Pierson led the defense with five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- Sheadan Makosy added three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- Mitchell Gearhart won seven faceoffs and picked up three ground balls.
- Kellen Markley made a season-high 20 saves in goal.
