ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Tennis team started strong by winning two of the three doubles matches in a hard-fought 6-1 defeat to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday inside the Arnold Sports Center in Annville.
The Dutchmen (6-8, 1-1 MAC Freedom) battled tough against the defending conference champion Ducks (5-5, 2-0 MAC Freedom) in a match that was played indoors due to early morning rain and wet courts at the Shankroff Tennis Center. LVC earned the doubled point with wins at number two and number three doubles before Stevens rallied to win all six singles matches.
Inside the Box
- Katie Berra and Megan Martin were the first double court to finish at number three with an impressive 6-3 victory. The pair are now 3-0 on the season when playing together.
- Erika Badner and Catherine Stone clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at number two. They are now 5-3 on the year and have won the last five matches when playing together.
- Sarah Kramer and Sarah McComas dropped a close 7-5 decision at number one doubles.
- Stone went three sets at number two singles after winning the first set 6-4. She dropped the second set 6-2 before Stevens won the third set 6-1.
- Badner had an incredibly close match at number three singles dropping a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) decision.
- Kramer went three sets at number six singles after winning the first set 6-3. She dropped the second set 6-0 and then the third set tiebreaker 10-4.
- LVC also won two doubles matches against the Ducks last season and are the only conference team to win more than one doubles match against Stevens since 2021.

The Dutchmen will be back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 2 p.m. start against Baruch College in non-conference action at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
