HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Katie Berra won her fourth match of the year as the Lebanon Valley Women's Tennis team battled against John Carroll University and Division II Tiffin University on Thursday at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center in Hilton Head.
The Dutchmen dropped a 7-0 decision to JCU in the morning before falling 6-1 to Tiffin in the afternoon. LVC had a bunch of close matches against the Blue Streaks and battled tough against the Division II Dragons.
Inside the Results
- Berra earned LVC's lone team point of the day with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at number five singles against Tiffin. The first-year improved to 4-3 on the year in her only singles match of the day. She improved to 3-0 in singles on the week.
- Erika Badner went three sets in a tough defeat at number three singles against JCU. She won the first set 6-3 before her opponent rallied for a 6-3 second set win and 10-3 victory in the tiebreaking third set.
- Badner also had a close match at number one doubles against the Blue Streaks. She teamed with Catherine Stone and dropped a tight 6-4 decision to the top JCU duo.
- Megan Martin dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision at number four singles against JCU.
- Emily Bryant had a close first set against Tiffin at number six singles falling 7-5,, 6-2 in her only singles match of the day.
Up Next
LVC finishes the trip 2-2 and will be back in action next Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. start at Eastern University.
