READING, Pa. – Megan Martin and
Catherine Stone each had two wins on the day to lead the Lebanon Valley Women's Tennis team in a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat at Albright College on Wednesday afternoon in Reading.
LVC (4-7) got off to a strong start winning two of the three doubles matches to earn the first team point with the Dutchmen wins coming at number two and three. Albright (8-0) then won four of the six singles matches to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
Inside the Box
- Erika Badner and Stone were 6-2 winners at number two doubles for their second consecutive victory.
- Martin teamed with Nikki Denbowski at number three to earn a 6-3 victory in their first match playing together.
- Stone needed three sets at number two singles but came away with her third straight win with a 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 victory.
- Martin earned her second win of the afternoon at number four singles with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.
- The match came down to the final match at number six singles where Laken Kelly dropped the first set 6-4. The first-year came back to earn a 6-2 victory in the second set before dropping the third set tiebreaker.
Up Next
LVC will be off for a little over a week before returning to action on April 3 with a home match against Messiah University. The start time against the Falcons is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
