WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catherine Stone and
Erika Badner accounted for three of LVC's four wins on Sunday as the Women's Tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision at Catholic University of America.
The Cardinals (9-3) won two of the three doubles matches with Badner and Stone winning at number two doubles. The teams then split the six singles matches with the Dutchmen (4-6) winning at number two, three, and six.
Inside the Box
- Badner and Stone earned a 7-6 win at number two doubles for their first win while playing together.
- Megan Martin and Jenna Miner dropped a close 6-5 decision at number three doubles while Sarah Kramer and Sarah McComas fell 6-3 at number one.
- Stone cruised to her fourth singles win of the year and second consecutive with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number two. She was the first singles court done.
- Badner won in three sets for the first time in her career and improved to 6-5 overall with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (6-1) win at number three singles.
- Kramer won 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at number six singles in her first match of the season.
