ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley senior
Alyssa Wene scored four goals for the Women Lacrosse team in a 18-6 defeat to visiting Dickinson College on Saturday morning at Arnold Field in the season opener for both teams.
Wene put the Dutchmen up in the first minute with an unassisted goal after winning the opening draw. The Red Devils responded with three quick goals in a span of a minute to take a 3-1 lead. Dickinson added two more goals with a little over eight minutes to go in the quarter and then a couple minutes later to increase the lead to 5-0 as the Dutchmen called the first timeout of the game. Dickinson doubled its lead with four goals in under a two-minute stretch to go up 8-1.
Kyla Hebert nearly stopped the run with 3:19 left but her shot was saved. The Red Devils added another goal to take a 9-1 lead after the first period.
The Red Devils pushed the advantage to 10 with a pair of goals in the first four minutes and then added another goal mid-way through the quarter. Wene ended the run by the visitors with her second goal of the game with just under four minutes on the clock. Dickinson answered right back to push the lead back to 11. Wene had a shot attempt in the final seconds blocked as the Red Devils took a 13-2 lead into the break.
The second half began with
Elizabeth Morgan having her shot attempt saved. The Red Devils cleared the ball and scored. Wene completed her hat trick a little over five minutes into the quarter with her third goal of the game. The senior won the ensuing draw control and shots on goal by Wene and Morgan were saved. Dickinson scored three times over the final six minutes of the quarter to take a 17-3 lead.
The Red Devils scored on the first possession of the quarter for their final goal of the game. Wene won the next draw, and
Emily Beard tallied her first goal of the season with 12 minutes left. Wene scored her fourth goal two minutes later to cut the advantage to 18-5.

Molly Whisler over the middle for the final goal of the game with 3:30 remaining.

- Wene scored four goals on eight shots. She has scored at least four goals in a game 10 times in her career. She now has 83 career goals and 98 points. The attacker also won a game-high eight draw controls.
- Beard scored the 138th goal of her career while taking three shots.
- Whisler had a goal on three shots. The junior scored her 30th career goal.
- Cohee had the 43rd assist of her career.
- Morgan put both of her shots on goal.
- Hebert won three draws and took one shot.
- Gigi Ditsky made nine saves in goal.

The Dutchmen will be back in action on Wednesday when they will take on Lycoming College on Arnold Field at 4 p.m.
