Women’s Tennis Defeats Arcadia for 13th Consecutive Win to Start Season

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team improved to 13-0 with an 8-1 victory over host Arcadia University on Wednesday afternoon at the Weiss Tennis Courts in Glenside.
 
LVC (13-0, 2-0 MAC Freedom) won all three doubles matches and then took five of the six singles matches to defeat the Knights.
 
Inside the Box
  • Eliana Shenk and Abbey DeLisio were the first doubles court to finish as the duo cruised to an 8-1 victory at number three to improve to 3-0 this year when playing together in a dual match.
  • Sarah Kramer and Sarah McComas were also 8-1 winners at number two. The pair are 3-0 when playing doubles together.
  • Jacquelyn McBride and Nicole Honrade won their 22nd consecutive doubles match by a score of 8-2 to complete the sweep. The pair are 24-1 overall when playing doubles together and undefeated in conference matches.
  • McBride was the first singles match to finish as she earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number two. The senior won her eighth consecutive singles match and is 12-2 this season.
  • Megan Martin clinched the match victory at number six singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win to improve to 11-2 in her first season.
  • Honrade was the next court to finish at number one as the graduate student won 6-1, 6-3 for her ninth consecutive singles win. Honrade now has 99 career victories between singles and doubles.
  • Shenk won at number five singles by a score of 6-1, 6-0 for her sixth consecutive win. She is 4-0 when playing in the fifth flight this year.
  • McComas improved to 15-1 overall and 13-0 in duals with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number three singles. The sophomore is 7-0 at number three and has won 10 straight matches.
  • Kramer took her opponent to three sets before falling 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 at number four singles.
  • The Dutchmen improve to 10-0 all-time against the Knights.
  • The 13 wins to begin the season is the program's best start ever.

LVC will face their toughest conference match of the year as they take on defending MAC Freedom Champion and preseason favorite Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday at Stephen Gregg Park in Bayonne, New Jersey. First serves are scheduled for 11 a.m.
