HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team stayed unbeaten on the year with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Roanoke College on Thursday morning at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort.
LVC (7-0) won two of the three doubles matches over the Maroons (2-4) to start the match. The Dutchmen then split the six singles matches earning wins at number one, two, and four to clinch the match victory in their toughest test of the year so far.
Inside the Box
- Jacquelyn McBride and Sarah McComas improved to 5-0 at number one doubles with an 8-6 victory.
- Abbey DeLisio and Jenna Miner earned an 8-5 win at number three doubles in their first match playing together. DeLisio improved to 7-3 in doubles this year while playing with her fifth different partner.
- Megan Martin continued her strong start to the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number four singles. She is 7-0 to begin her career and has won matches in four different flights.
- McComas cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number two singles to improve to 9-1 on the year. She is undefeated in duals including a 3-0 record when playing in the second flight.
- McBride clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at number one singles. She improved to 7-2 on the season.
- Eliana Shenk took her opponent to three sets at number three singles before being defeated 1-6, 6-4, 10-5.
- The Dutchmen earned a win over the Maroons for the second consecutive year in Hilton Head. Last year LVC won by a score of 6-3.

LVC will be back in action early tomorrow morning with an 8 a.m. start against Gordon College at the Hilton Head Resort in the final match of the trip.
