Dutchmen Men’s Tennis Earn Second Consecutive 7-2 Win

GRATHAM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team earned their second consecutive 7-2 win over a former conference rival as the Dutchmen went on the road to defeat Messiah University on Monday afternoon at the Criste Courts in Grantham.
 
LVC (6-6) started off strong by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Dutchmen then won the top four singles flights before Messiah (1-8) earned their two points at fifth and sixth singles. The win over the Falcons was the third straight in the series since Messiah won the 2021 MAC Commonwealth Semifinal. All three Dutchmen wins have been by a 7-2 score.
 
Inside the Box
  • Adam Warren and Jesse Beck cruised to an 8-1 victory at number one doubles to improve to 5-4 when playing together this year.
  • Michael Schuetz and Ethan Luu were the next match to finish at number two doubles as they earned an 8-6 victory. They are now 4-1 when playing together.
  • Colin Brusse and Jake Erb won 8-5 at number three doubles to give the Dutchmen the sweep. The duo are now 1-1 when playing together.
  • Warren was the first singles match to finish as he earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at number two. He improved to 4-2 at number two singles this season.
  • Beck had a big 6-2, 6-4 victory at number one singles over 2022 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year and two-time first team honoree, Chase Wilson.
  • Schuetz was the next match to finish as he won by scores of 7-5, 6-1 at number four. Schuetz is now 9-2 on the season in singles play.
  • Erb won his fifth singles match of the year with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at number three. He is now 4-2 in the third flight.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will begin conference play on Saturday April 6 as they welcome FDU-Florham to the Shankroff Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. start.
