GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team improved to 4-0 against former conference rivals as the Dutchmen defeated host Messiah University 6-3 on Friday afternoon at the Criste Courts in Grantham.
LVC stayed unbeaten on the year with their 11th win while defeating Messiah (2-7) in a rematch of last year's MAC Commonwealth semifinal. The Dutchmen earned wins at first and third doubles before taking the top four singles flights to head into MAC Freedom play on a 20-match regular season winning streak.
Inside the Box
- Sarah Kramer and Sarah McComas won 8-2 at number one doubles in their first match playing together.
- Nicole Honrade and Megan Martin gave LVC a 2-0 lead with an 8-3 victory at number three doubles.
- Jacquelyn McBride and Eliana Shenk played a close match at number two doubles but were defeated 8-6.
- Honrade was the first singles match to finish with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number two to improve to 7-2 on the season.
- McComas was the next match to be done as the sophomore won her eighth straight with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at number three singles.
- Shenk clinched the match for the Dutchmen with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number four singles for her fourth consecutive win.
- McBride gave the Dutchmen their sixth point with a 6-3, 6-0 win at number one singles for her 10th win of the year.
- LVC has now won six matches in a row against the Falcons dating back to 2021.
