Women’s Tennis Dominates York in Championship Rematch

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team won all nine matches to defeat York College of Pennsylvania 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in a rematch of last year's MAC Commonwealth Championship match.
 
The Dutchmen (9-0) won another close matchup with the Spartans (1-6) in the first non-conference battle between the programs since 2019.
 
Inside the Box
  • Jacquelyn McBride and Nicole Honrade started things off with an 8-2 victory at number one doubles. It was the first time the duo has played together since going 14-0 in the 2021-22 season.
  • Eliana Shenk and Sarah Kramer teamed up at number three doubles for an 8-2 victory. The duo are 3-1 when playing together this year.
  • Sarah McComas and Megan Martin won 8-6 at number two doubles to improve to 2-0 when playing together.
  • Honrade was the first singles match to finish as she improved to 6-1 in singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at number two.
  • McBride needed three sets to win at number one singles but she came away with a 7-6 (7-1) 2-6, 6-2 victory to win her fifth consecutive singles match.
  • McComas won her sixth straight singles match with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at number three. The sophomore transfer is now 11-1 at LVC.
  • Kramer returned to the singles lineup with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 victory at number four to improve to 4-0 this year.
  • Shenk was the third three-set winner as she was a 6-1, 1-6 10-7 winner at number five.
  • Martin rebounded from her first career loss with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 victory at number six singles.
  • The Dutchmen have won 19th consecutive matches at the Shankroff Tennis Center
  • LVC has now won five consecutive matches against the Spartans over the past three seasons.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will look for their 10th win of the year on Wednesday as they welcome Albright College to the Shankroff Tennis Center for a 4 p.m. start between the former conference foes.
