Seven Dutchmen Score Goals at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team had seven different goal scorers in a 18-12 defeat to host Haverford College on Saturday afternoon at Swan Field.
 
The Fords used a strong first half to build an 11-5 lead over the Dutchmen. Haverford scored twice in just over a 30-second span to take the early lead a couple of minutes in. Sheadan Mokosy cut the lead in half with the first of his four goals on the afternoon. The Ford were able to increase the lead to 3-1 before Jake Bollinger scored twice to tie the game up with just under five minutes to go in the first quarter. The Fords responded with three consecutive goals to take a 6-3 lead into the second quarter.
 
Haverford scored 32 seconds into the second stanza to go up by four. John Lux stopped the goal streak with an unassisted goal. The Fords increased their advantage to 11-4 with four straight goals. Zach Wanous ended the half with an unassisted goal for the Dutchmen.
 
LVC battled tough in the second half starting with a Makosy goal to cut the lead to five. Haverford scored the next four goals before LVC scored three times in the final minute to make it 16-10. Makosy scored with just under a minute to go to start the run. Kellen Markley then sent a full field pass to Wanous for a goal with 15 seconds left before Ethan Keenan scored his first goal of the year off an assist by Alex Kiviniemi with three seconds left. Both teams scored in the first minute of the fourth quarter as Kiviniemi extended his goal scoring streak. Neither team scored again until the final three minutes when they traded goals. Colin Hughes scored unassisted for the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen will be back on the road this Wednesday with a short trip to Reading for a 7 p.m. game against Albright College.
