NEWTOWN, Pa. – Senior forward Evin Timochenko was honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) after his big day in the Lebanon Valley College Men's Basketball team's season-opening win over Cairn University, as the conference office announced in a release on Monday that he was named the MAC Freedom Player of the Week.
Timochenko had a huge career-high double-double of 33 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Dutchmen to an 85-82 victory at Cairn in the season opener on Saturday. He was 16-23 from the field and 1-2 at the line to score his career-high 33 points. The forward grabbed five offensive and 14 defensive rebounds for his career-high 19. Timochenko had the most rebounds in the conference this weekend and the second-most points. His 19 rebounds per game and 14 defensive rebounds per game are both second in the nation while his 33 points per game is eighth.
This marks Timochenko's first career MAC Freedom weekly award. The senior is the first member of the Dutchmen to receive a conference weekly award since Collin Jones was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week on Jan. 30, 2023.
Timochenko and the Dutchmen will return to the court at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, when the program will take on Lancaster Bible College at the Horst Athletic Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
