BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's cross country team had an top-five average time of 27:18 to finish eighth in the White Race at the 49th annual Paul Short Run on Saturday afternoon at Lehigh University.
"This was a solid day for our men," head coach James O'Brien had to say about the performance. "We were able to beat St. Vincent head-to-head and they are one spot in front of us in the regional rankings. We also had some really positive things happen in terms of how well we moved up through the field on a muddy day." The Dutchmen placed their top five in the top 100 of the 376-runner race. "I also think it would be fair to say that we were hoping for a little more. I know what I've been seeing at practice and I'm anxious for us to get a few more good workouts in before we compete next at Rowan."
Matthew Santana led the team with a time of 26:46.7 to finish 32nd.
Sam Rothstein finished 52nd with a time of 27:10.1.
