WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College volleyball team won its sixth consecutive match on Tuesday night, defeating King's College 3-1 at McGrane Gymnasium.
The Flying Dutchmen (9-4, 2-0 MAC Freedom) continued their recent success, picking up a victory against the Monarchs (8-3, 0-2 MAC Freedom) in four sets. Lebanon Valley took the first set 25-14, but King's tied the match by winning the second set 25-22. LVC then went on to secure the victory by taking the third and fourth sets 25-20 and 25-9. Taylor McInerney helped lead the way, recording 30 kills offensively.
Lebanon Valley dominated during the first set, as the squad never trailed. The Flying Dutchmen were up 5-3 early and then registered four consecutive points to take a commanding 9-3 lead. This stretch was the result of a kill by McInerney, a service ace by senior libero

The Dutchmen battled back in the second set, after trailing the Monarchs 13-6 early. Lebanon Valley responded with four points in a row, narrowing its deficit to 13-11. The squad got back into the set with three kills by McInerney and two aces by sophomore
Devyn Kelley. LVC tied the set late to make it 21-all, but King's ultimately went on to take the set.
Lebanon Valley got its offense going early in the third set, jumping out to an early 5-1 advantage on three kills by McInerney and two attack errors. The Flying Dutchmen capped off the evening with a strong fourth set, winning by a margin of 16 points. LVC trailed King's 4-2 early on, but the team responded with 11 straight points to take a commanding 13-4 advantage.
