HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Anna Marie Hockman knocked in six runs and hits two home runs in a game one victory for the Lebanon Valley softball team in a split at Juniata College on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen won the opener 10-1 and the host Eagles took the second game by a 5-0 score.
Game One
Hockman put the Dutchmen (28-5) on the board in the fourth inning with her first two-run home run of the game.
Kylie Balthaser got on base earlier in the inning with a single to right.
Sam Burns gave LVC a 3-0 lead in the fifth. She led off the inning with an infield single to second. Burns stole second and then came all the way around to score on a
Julia Craig groundout to first. In the sixth inning
Lexi Smith hit a one out single up the middle. Hockman knocked her in with her second two-run home run of the game to make it 5-0.
LVC doubled the lead in the seventh with five runs on seven hits. The Dutchmen loaded the bases with one out. Smith knocked in a run with a single up the middle and then Hockman singled to center to plate two more runs.
Julia Forsythe reloaded the bases with a single before
Megan Heard was hit by a pitch.
Nikki Sellers knocked in the final run with a single up the middle. Juniata got on the board with a run in the bottom of the inning.
Inside the Box Score
- Jordan Walter held the Eagles to just one hit in five innings of work in the circle. The junior struck out six and didn't walk a batter.
- Erin Sinatra pitched the final two innings and struck out one.
- Hockman had three hits including the two home runs, scored three runs, and knocked in six.
- Smith had two hits and scored twice while Kylie Balthaser also had a multi-hit hit game with a run scored.
- Sellers had two hits in the seventh inning.
- LVC had 14 total hits by nine different batters.
Game Two
Juniata (15-11) hit three home runs and kept the Dutchmen (28-6) from scoring in the second game. The Eagles scored the first run of the game in the second inning on an RBI double. The host then hit a solo home run in the fourth and a two home runs in the fifth inning. LVC put two runners on base in the first and second innings but were unable to drive in a run. The Dutchmen had the bases loaded in the seventh before the Eagles got the final out of the game.

- Craig had two hits in the game including a double.
- Heard was the second Dutchmen with a multi-hit game.
- Burns extended her hitting streak to a team-best eight games.
Up Next
Lebanon Valley will look to clinch the top seed in the conference tournament on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Widener University. Game one is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Chester. Two wins by the Dutchmen over the Pride will lock up the regular season championship.
