FREDERICK, Md. – Jake Bollinger scored five goals for the fourth this this season to lead the Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team at Hood College on Wednesday evening. The host Blazers won the game 12-9 behind a strong second half rally.
Bollinger got the Dutchmen (7-8, 1-5 MAC Commonwealth) on the board a little over a minute into the game with an unassisted goal. The Blazers (8-5, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) tied things up before Bollinger struck again with 8:21 left in the opening quarter.
Carson Frey gave the Dutchmen a two-goal lead off an assist from
Jack Kapcsos before Hood scored a man-up goal to cut the lead to 3-2 after the first 15 minutes. Kapcsos and Frey reversed roles with the first goal of the second quarter as Frey assisted on a goal by Kapcsos. Hood scored with a little under nine minutes to go in the half and then
Trey Ralston responded with a goal off an assist by
Colin Hughes to make it 5-3 in favor of LVC. Hood closed out the half with three consecutive goals to take their first lead of the game at 6-5.
LVC came out strong to begin the second half as Bollinger scored twice in the first five minutes. His first goal was assisted by
Ben Weathersby to tie the game and then he gave the Dutchmen back the lead with an unassisted score.
Alex Kiviniemi added to the lead off an assist from Ralston with 7:25 on the clock. The Blazers stopped the run with an unassisted goal to cut the lead to one. Bollinger made it a two-goal game with his fifth score of the evening off an assist by
Hayden Carling with 3:26 to go in the quarter. The Blazers held the Dutchmen scoreless the rest of the way and scored three times in the rest of the third to take the lead before adding two insurance goals in the fourth.

- Bollinger scored five goals on 10 shots. He scored on all five shots he put on goal. The junior has scored at least five goals in four games this season.
- Frey, Ralston, and Kapcsos all had one goal and one assist for two points.
- Kiviniemi scored a goal to extend his game-scoring streak. The senior has scored in all 15 games this season.
- Weathersby picked up a team-high four ground balls and had an assist.
- Kellen Markley made 12 saves in goal while Gavin Porter won seven faceoffs.

The Dutchmen will be back in action on Saturday evening with a 7 p.m. start at York College of Pennsylvania in the team's final road game of the season.
