Dutchmen Baseball Record 10 Hits at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Center fielder Ryan Murphy picked up a hit for a second consecutive game in the Lebanon Valley College baseball team's matchup against Elizabethtown College on Wednesday at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium. The Dutchmen worked throughout the game to get base runners, but ultimately fell to the Blue Jays 13-2.

Elizabethtown (22-7) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, as a three-run homer put the club ahead. Lebanon Valley (18-13-1) answered back in the top of the second, trimming its deficit to 3-1. Murphy got the team on the board in the top of the second, as he lined a single to left-center field to score Conor Smith. The Blue Jays then responded in the bottom half of the frame with a pair of RBI singles, taking a 5-1 lead.
 
Elizabethtown then continued to have a productive day in the batter's box, extending its advantage to 13-1 by the end of the seventh inning with a pair of four-run frames. The Flying Dutchmen continued to battle at the plate despite the deficit, scoring a run in the ninth to make it a 13-2 game. This would stand as the final score.

Lebanon Valley will return to the field on Friday at 3:30 p.m., as the team will travel to take on York College of Pennsylvania at Jaquet Field in York, Pennsylvania to begin a big conference series in a rematch of the last two conference championships series.
