ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team had five different student-athletes record a hat trick in a big 20-7 victory at Eastern University on Wednesday afternoon to even their conference record at 2-2.
Sydney Zimmerman gave LVC (5-8, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) the lead 1:01 into the contest with a goal off an assist from
Veronica Venezia. Eastern (0-11, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) tied things up almost two minutes later. Venezia dished out another assist to
Emily Beard to give the Dutchmen back the lead. After an Eagles goal,
Erin Zieber started a five-goal scoring streak off yet another assist by Venezia. Venezia scored the next two goals off assists by Zimmerman and then the duo switched rolls as Venezia assisted on a Zimmerman goal. Beard ended the run with her second goal of the game off an assist by Zimmerman. The Eagles cut the lead to 7-3 at the end of the first 15 minutes.
The Dutchmen put together another five-goal run to start the second quarter as Zieber, Zimmerman,
Maria Brandt,
Bethany Cohee, and then Zieber scored. Beard had two assists during the streak while Venezia, Zimmerman, and
Molly Whisler added assists. Eastern scored with 11 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to 12-4 at halftime. Venezia started the scoring in the third off another assist by Zimmerman. The Eagles scored before LVC added four straight goals to build a 17-5 advantage. Beard, Zieber, Brandt, and
Anna Lougee scored the goals while Cohee, Zimmerman, and Zieber were credited with assists. Eastern ended the run with a goal but then LVC received goals from Brandt and two goals from
Jordan Van Zant to go up 20-6. The Eagles scored with a second left to set the final.

- Venezia scored three goals, dished out five assists, and won a season-high eight draw controls. She moved within a point of 400 career points.

- Brandt scored three goals and had one assist. She caused a team-high six turnovers and picked up eight ground balls with five draw controls.
- Cohee had a goal and two assists while Van Zant scored the first two goals of her collegiate career.
- Lougee had a goal with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

LVC will head to Grantham on Saturday to face 11th-ranked Messiah University. Opening draw is at 1 p.m. against the Falcons.
