Frey Scores Third Hat Trick of Season Against Eastern

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Carson Frey had three goals and two assists to lead the Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team in a 21-11 defeat to Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Leader Eastern University on Wednesday afternoon at Arnold Field.

The visiting Eagles (7-6, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth) scored the first seven goals of the game before Frey got the Dutchmen (7-6, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) on the board with his first goal of the game. Frey intercepted a pass near the goal and put it away for his 75th career goal. Eastern scored six of the final seven goals of the half to take a 13-2 lead. Frey scored his second goal of the game with 5:15 left in the half off a great pass from Alex Kiviniemi.

The Eagles extended their lead to 17-2 with the first four goals of the second half. Kiviniemi stopped the run with an unassisted goal after picking up a ground ball on the other side of the field and clearing the ball himself. Eastern scored twice before Frey dished out a pair of assists to Trey Ralston and Jake Bollinger. Eastern added another goal and then LVC used a strong run of six consecutive goals to cut the lead to 20-11 with 4:43 left. Ralston began the run with the final goal of the third quarter off an assist from Colin Hughes. Hughes then scored a man-up goal off a pass from Bollinger. Bollinger, Frey, Evan Miller, and Sean Poole scored unassisted goals in the fourth.
