RALEIGH, N.C. – Sydney Zimmerman scored two goals including her 100th career point for the Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team in a hard-fought 9-4 defeat at Meredith College on Wednesday evening in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Dutchmen (1-3) defense held defending USA South Champion Meredith (4-2) under their season scoring average in the game. The Avenging Angels scored the first three goals of the game. Zimmerman recorded her milestone point on an unassisted goal with 3:42 left in the first quarter to make it a 3-1 game. Meredith scored in the opening minute of the second quarter.
Molly Whisler brought it back to a two-goal game with her second goal of the year. The Angles took a 6-2 lead into halftime after scoring two more goals in the quarter.
LVC came out of the break strong as
Emily Beard and Zimmerman scored unassisted goals to cut the lead down to 6-4 with 1:21 remaining in the third. Meredith scored with 25 seconds left to make it a three-goal lead heading into the final quarter. The Angels scored twice in the first five minutes of the fourth to make it 9-4.

- Zimmerman led the Dutchmen with two goals on five shots.
- Beard scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season on four shots. The junior won a team-high three draw controls.
- Whisler added a goal on three shots.
- Julia Abendschoen made 11 saves in goal including three on free position shots. The senior also led the team with five ground balls.
