PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Ryan Petrucci hit a three-run pinch hit home run for the Lebanon Valley baseball team in a heart-breaking 10-9 walk-off defeat to Wabash College in the first of two games for the Dutchmen on Tuesday in Port Charlotte. LVC was defeated by Saint's John's University 5-3 in the second game of the day.
Game 1 vs. Wabash
Wabash (6-4) scored the first six runs of the game with two runs in each of the first three innings. LVC (1-5-1) started the comeback in the fifth as
Duncan Weir singled through the right side to score
Luke Blair. In the sixth Petrucci cut the lead down to two runs with a pinch-hit blast to right field with
Andrew Miles and
Ryan Murphy on base. Wabash responded with two runs in the seventh to take an 8-4 lead.
The Dutchmen came right back in the eighth inning scoring five runs to take a 9-8 lead.
Conor Smith knocked into two runs with a bases loaded single to left.
Jace Fetterman was hit by a pitch to plate a run and then
Nico Santoro and
Shane Stossel drew bases loaded walks to give the Dutchmen the lead. Wabash was able to score twice in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a victory.
Inside the Box Score
- Seven different Dutchmen recorded a hit in the game.
- Petrucci had three RBI in his only at-bat of the game.
- Smith knocked in two runs while Miles and Blair scored twice.

Game 2 vs. Saint John's
The Dutchmen (1-6-1) scored first with a pair of runs in the fifth. Smith scored on a wild pitch and then
Dave Mangold hit a sacrifice fly to left as
Ethan O'Loughlin raced home from third to give LVC a 2-0 lead. SJU (2-4) responded with a three-run fifth inning on three hits. Saint John's increased their lead to 5-3 with two runs in the sixth.
Logan Brewer hit an RBI double in the eighth to score O'Loughlin to cut the deficit down to two.

- Smith had two hits and scored a run.
- Brewer knocked in a run and had two hits.
- Santoro extended his hitting streak with a hit. The senior has recorded a hit in every game so far this year.
- Andrew Spaan struck out two in five innings of work while Jacob Detwiler struck out two in three innings.

The Dutchmen will have an off day on Wednesday and will be back in action on Thursday when they will face Rhode Island College at 10 a.m. in Port Charlotte.
