ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team defeated visiting Wilkes University 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon for their 12th consecutive victory at the Shankroff Tennis Center dating back to last spring.
LVC (7-3) won two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to earn their first victory over the Colonels (1-3) since September 25, 2004. Wilkes had won the last five meetings including a 5-4 victory in Wilkes-Barre last spring.
Inside the Box Score
- Nicole Honrade and Sarah Kramer made quick work at number one doubles for a 8-1 victory to win their fourth straight match when playing together.
- Meredith Haas and Madison Poladian were 8-4 victors at number two doubles to improve to 2-1 this season in duals.
- Haas then won 6-1, 6-0 at number four singles for her fifth dual victory of the year.
- Honrade won 6-0, 6-3 at number one singles for her fourth consecutive win. She is now 8-1 in duals this season.
- Kramer won her fifth dual match of the year with a 6-3, 6-4 win at number two.
- Shenk was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at number five singles to improve to 5-0 in the flight this year.
- Poladian was the last match to finish as she earned a thrilling 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory at number six singles with the rest of her teammates rooting her on in the final set.
