Dutchmen Baseball Records 11 Hits at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley baseball team knocked 11 base hits on Tuesday afternoon but struggled to score in a non-conference 11-2 defeat at Immaculata University.
 
In a battle of 2022 conference champions, The Mighty Macs jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs in the first, one in the third, and one in the fourth. LVC put a man on base with a hit in every inning but were unable to score until the sixth when Duncan Weir led off the inning with a triple to right center and then scored on a Jace Fetterman single. Immaculata responded with a run in the bottom of the inning, two runs in the seventh, and four more in the eighth. The Dutchmen scored in the eighth as Shane Stossel hit a two-out single to right, stole second and then scored on a Conor Smith single.

  • Seven different Dutchmen recorded a hit and LVC had a hit in every inning.
  • Fetterman led four hitters with a multiple-hit game with two hits and an RBI.
  • Stossel had two hits and a run while Nico Santoro and Dave Mangold recorded two hits each.
  • Smith had a hit and an RBI while Weir scored a run and hit a triple.
  • Anthony Giancatarino had a pinch-hit double.
  • The Dutchmen used four pitchers who struck out nine batters. Malachi Duka pitched the first 2.1 innings and struck out one. Brendan Landry pitched 2.2 innings and struck out one.
  • Ryan Pickle struck out four in two innings of work and then Tony Bennage struck out three in the eighth. 
Up Next
LVC will return to conference play this weekend with a three-game series against Hood College. The Dutchmen will head down to Maryland on Friday for a 3:30 p.m. start in Frederick before hosting the Blazers for two games on Saturday.
