ANNVILLE, Pa. – Eight Lebanon Valley student-athletes were named to the Winter Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Sportsmanship Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
The MAC All-Sportsmanship Teams recognize student-athletes who exemplify great character and display exceptional sportsmanship both on and off the field. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity, and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents. They are humble and hold themselves with pride, competing at the same level of intensity no matter who the competition is, or outcome of the contest. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches and student-athletes from their respective teams.
Men's Basketball—Luis Garcia, senior, guard
Garcia played in 19 games this season making 19 starts. The captain averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Women's Basketball—Daelyn Stabler, senior, forward
Stabler started all 26 games in her final season at The Valley. The forward averaged 9.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Men's Ice Hockey—Max Loga, senior, left wing
Loga skated in all 25 games this season as a senior. He recorded two points on two assists and blocked 13 shots.
Women's Ice Hockey—Victoria Scurto, junior, forward
Scurto skated in all 26 games as a junior forward. She recorded eight points on four goals and four assists and had one game-winning goal.
Men's Indoor Track and Field—Daniel Sheffield, senior, jumps/sprints
Sheffield competed in seven meets during the indoor season. The jumper finished fifth at the MAC Championships in the long jump with a career best jump of 6.64 meters (21'9.5").
Women's Indoor Track and Field—Ashley Bartels, senior, throws
Bartels competed at eight meets this indoor season and broke the school record in the weight throw. The senior finished second at the MAC Championships with a mark of 15.68 meters (51'5.5") and then threw a career best mark of 16.06 meters (52'8.25") to finish sixth at the AARTFC Championships.
Men's Swimming—Dain Vallie, senior, freestyle/breaststroke/IM
Vallie swam in all nine meets this season as a senior. He finished 18th in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:05.21, 20th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.76, and 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.28 seconds at the MAC Championships.
Women's Swimming—Mary McClelland, senior, freestyle
McClelland swam in all nine meets as a senior. She was the second leg on the "B" 800-yard freestyle relay team with a 200-yard freestyle split of 2:54.64.
