ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's basketball team had three double-digit scorers on Tuesday evening in the team's final road game of the season, a 75-60 defeat to host Eastern University in St. Davids.
Luis Garcia scored the first points of the game on a jumper in the paint 90 seconds in. The teams battled up and down the court over the first five minutes in a defensive battle. Garcia gave the Dutchmen a 10-8 lead with 13 minutes left in the half on another jumper in the paint. The Eagles knocked down a three-pointer to take the lead. Eastern then used a 13-2 run to take a 24-12 lead with 8:37 on the clock. The Eagles were able to extend the lead to 19 points with four minutes left.
Jacob Montgomery hit a three to stop the run and bring the score to 36-20 before the Eagles took a 40-22 halftime lead.
LVC came out firing in the second half as
Collin Jones scored back-to-back buckets in the paint.
Antonio Redding and Garcia knocked down shots and the Dutchmen were withing 12 at 42-30 with 16:32 remaining. Eastern was able to bring the lead back to 15 before Jones scored to make it 47-34 with 14 minutes to go. Eastern responded with a run to go up by 23 midway through the half.
Ryan Harder and
Kyle Tang hit free throws to bring the advantage down to 19. The Eagles managed to build the lead back up to 25 points before the Dutchmen ended the game on a 15-5 run.
Inside the Box Score
- Jones scored all 16 of his points in the second half and had six rebounds.
- Garcia had 15 points including going 5-6 at the line. He added three rebounds, two assists, and one block.
- Harder finished with 11 points and five rebounds,
- Evan Smith knocked down two three-pointers and had eight points.
- Kyle Tang dished out a team-high four assists.
- LVC outscored the Eagles 38-35 in the second half
