OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Ryan Harder and Luis Garcia scored in double figures to lead the Lebanon Valley men's basketball team in a 72-52 defeat at Stevenson University on Wednesday evening in Maryland.

Stevenson scored the first three points of the game with a jumper on the opening possession and then the front end of two free throws a minute in. Garcia gave the Dutchmen their first points of the game with a bucket in the paint to make it 3-2. The Mustangs knocked down a three and got a steal and bucket to take an 8-2 lead. The Dutchmen called timeout and responded with a 4-0 run on a bucket by Harder and a jumper by Wil Laskowski to come within two points five minutes into the game. After a Mustang bucket, Harder cut the lead to one with a three-pointer. The teams traded scores and Tyson Hofsass hit the front end of two free throws to make it 17-14 with 11 on the clock. Stevenson scored six points over the next minute to go up by nine. LVC countered with the next five points finished off with a Garcia jumper in the paint to bring the advantage back down to four with seven minutes to go. The lead was at five points with 2:46 to go after a Kyle Tang free throw. The Mustangs finished the half on a 10-0 run to take a 39-24 lead into the break.

LVC came out of the locker room strong with Harder getting the scoring going in the second half with a bucket. He scored again on a fast break as Garcia pulled down a defensive rebound and found Harder streaking towards the basket. Garcia scored the next time down the court and after another defensive stop, Evan Smith knocked down a three on the left side to make it 41-33. The Mustangs scored on a layup and then Hofsass made two free throws. LVC got the lead down to five with 14 minutes to go as Smith pulled up in transition for his second three-pointer of the half. Stevenson responded with a 5-0 run before Jevon Smith hit a three-pointer in transition with just under 12 to go. A pair of free throws by Hofsass got the advantage back down to five before a layup and three-pointer gave Stevenson a 53-43 lead with 10:40 left. LVC battled to keep the lead around 10 points over the next couple of minutes.
