ASTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley fell in a hard defeat to the Neumann Knights 3-2 on Friday evening.
The Knights were first to get on the board in the contest with a goal at 16:31. Lebanon Valley (3-9-0 Overall, 2-7-0 UCHC) held Neumann back from scoring for the remainder of the first period, going into the second trailing 1-0.
Irina Brady put away the first goal for LVC off a puck from
Hannah Annunziata at 7:05 to tie the game 1-1. Neumann then responded at 16:55 with another goal to gain the 2-1 lead going into the third. The Knights put away a third goal at 4:40 to take the 3-2, and then
Katrina Strauts responded with a power play goal at 11:03. Strauts' goal came with assists from
Alexis Oukes and
Erin Yorke. Despite the last-minute offensive efforts from LVC, the Knights walked away with the 3-2 win.

- Brady and Strauts each put away a goal on the evening. Annunziata, Oukes, and Yorke each dished out assists.
- Tiffany Anderson led the shots column with four. Katie Pounder and Cheyenne Wilk followed with two shots.
- Grace Mayer and Ioanna Christou had two blocks for LVC.
- Shelby Guinard stood in net for LVC making 29 stops on the evening.
- Anderson and Pouder dominated the face off category in the contest. Anderson won 16 out of 21, and Pounder won 12 out of 14.

The Dutchmen will return to Hersheypark Arena for the second game of the series against Neumann on Saturday evening. Puck drop is slotted for 7 p.m.
