Four Dutchmen Reach Double Figures at Albright

READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's basketball team had four scorers in double figures on Wednesday evening in a hard-fought 85-76 defeat to Albright College in Reading.

Albright began the game with a pair of three pointers on their first two possessions. LVC responded with Evan Smith knocking down a pair of threes to even things up. The Lions then used a 9-1 run to take an eight-point lead. Albright managed to get the lead up to 11 before Collin Jones hit a three and Antonio Redding scored a couple of layups to cut the lead down to 22-18. The Dutchmen continued their run and took the lead at 26-25 on a pair of Jones free throws with 6:33 on the clock. The Lions responded with a 10-2 run to retake the lead. Albright got the lead up to 10 before Payton Lewis ended the half on a bucket down low.

The Lions came out of the break and scored the first nine points to take a 53-36 advantage. Albright got the lead up to 21 points with 15:22 left. The Dutchmen staged a furious comeback attempt led by Jones, Lewis, and Luis Garcia. Those three scored all but three of the team's next 30 points as the Dutchmen cut the advantage all the way down to four points at 70-66 with just under seven minutes to go. Albright was able to build the lead back up to 11 but Tyson Hofsass and Lewis knocked down threes to make it a five-point game with 42 seconds left. The Lions then scored their final four points at the line.
