Stabler and Fitzpatrick Lead Women’s Basketball at Albright

READING, Pa. – Kate Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 27 points and Daelyn Stabler had eight points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team in a hard-fought 62-50 defeat at Albright College on Tuesday evening in Reading.
 
The Dutchmen (9-9, 5-4 MAC Commonwealth) got out to a 5-2 lead on a Fitzpatrick jumper and Stabler three. Albright (13-6, 7-3 MAC Commonwealth) used an 11-0 run over a span of three minutes to take a 13-5 lead. The teams traded baskets the rest of the quarter and the Lions held a 19-11 lead after the first 10 minutes. The back-and-forth play continued into the second quarter with the teams trading scores through the first five minutes. Albright took a 31-20 lead with a little over 2:30 left before Jordan Zimmerman knocked down a jumper to cut the lead to nine going into halftime.
 
Albright scored the first three points of the second half to go up by 12. Stabler and Elise Balmer knocked down a free throw each, Fitzpatrick scored on a fast break layup, and then Zimmerman pulled down a big offensive rebound and hit the put back to bring LVC within six with 4:25 to go in the quarter. Albright responded with a 6-0 run which was halted by a Fitzpatrick step back three. The Lions knocked down a three to take a 48-37 lead into the fourth quarter. Riley Hevelow and Fitzpatrick started off the fourth with jumpers to make it a seven-point game. Albright was able to get the lead back up to 11 before the teams traded scores for the rest of the game.

  • Fitzpatrick was one point shy of her career-high with 27 points. She also pulled down five rebounds.
  • Stabler was a force on the boards with 12 rebounds and added eight points.
  • Zimmerman added seven points and three rebounds.
  • Lebanon Valley shot 33.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Up Next
LVC will host Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. inside Sorrentino Gymnasium. The game will serve as the team's annual Pink Game.
