Dutchmen Women’s Tennis Cruise To Win At Alvernia

READING, Pa. – The Lebanon College women's tennis team won their fourth straight match with an 8-1 victory at Alvernia University on Wednesday afternoon in their second Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match of the year.
 
LVC (7-4, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) swept all three doubles matches and the won five of the six singles matches. Alvernia (7-3, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) picked up their lone point with a three-set victory at number one singles.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Sarah Kramer and Eliana Shenk started things off for the Dutchmen with an 8-1 victory at number three doubles. The duo improved to 4-0 this year when playing together.
  • Meredith Haas and Madison Poladian were the next to finish with an 8-3 win at number two doubles. They are also 4-0 this spring when playing together.
  • Jacquelyn McBride and Nicole Honrade won 8-7 (7-1) at number one doubles to give LVC a 3-0 lead. McBride and Honrade are 6-0 this year when playing together.
  • Shenk swept through her singles match 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 5-0 when playing in the sixth flight. Kramer won her fourth singles match 6-3, 6-0 to rebound after a tough loss on Saturday.
  • Honrade continued her strong play with a 6-4, 6-0 win at number two singles to improve to 5-1 on the dual season.
  • Haas won 6-1, 6-3 at number three singles to improve to 6-5 overall and 4-2 when playing in the third flight. Poladian rebounded from a tough three-set loss on Saturday to win 6-4, 6-2 in the fifth flight.
  • The Dutchmen have won four consecutive matches over Alvernia and are 13-3 against the Golden Wolves since 2008 when Alvernia joined the MAC.
Who's Next
LVC will travel down to Maryland on Sunday for another conference battle with Stevenson University. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
