ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Anna Marie Hockman hit her first career home run as the Lebanon Valley College softball team defeated visiting Lycoming College 4-0 in the first game of a doubleheader split with the Warriors at the LVC Softball Park on Saturday afternoon.
Game 1
LVC (20-8) scored all four runs in the fifth inning as
Erin Sinatra pitched a gem in the circle. Lycoming (6-21) was held to just two hits in the game.
Inside the Box Score
- Sinatra struck out five and walked just one to earn her eighth win of the season. She was very efficient throwing just 69 pitches to 24 batters.
- Kylie Balthaser led off the fifth with a triple to right center. Morgan Comfort got on via a bunt single and then stole second. Lexi Smith dropped down a bunt to third and reached base safely for a single. However, the throw from the third baseman went into right field and all three base runners winded up scoring on the play to give the Dutchmen a 3-0 lead.
- Two batters later, Hockman drilled the third pitch she saw over the left field fence for a home run.
- Smith and Hockman were the only hitters with two hits in the game.
Game 2
