GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team locked up the top seed in this year's Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament with a 7-2 win at Messiah University on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchmen (13-5, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth) swept all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches for their eighth straight victory. The Falcons (7-10, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) earned their two points at number one and number two singles.
Inside the Box Score
- Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren needed a tiebreaker for an 8-7 (7-5) win at the number one doubles. William Harriger and Brendan Byler were 8-6 winners at number two doubles. Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McLucas also won 8-6 in the number three doubles flight to improve to 7-0 this year.
- Warren went three sets at number three singles and came out victorious with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win. He is now 6-0 in conference play and has won his last six matches.
- Byler won 6-2, 6-0 at number four singles to improve to 10-8 in duals and 5-1 in conference play. He has won his last three.
- McLucas improved to 16-1 with his 10th straight win at number five singles. He won in straight sets 6-1, 7-5.
- Michael Schuetz wrapped up the win at number six singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory to improve to 11-6 and 4-1 in the conference.
- The Dutchmen beat Messiah for the first time since a 5-4 victory in 2019. The Falcons won three straight matches in the series prior to today.
Who's Next
LVC will travel to Gettysburg on Wednesday in their final non-conference match before wrapping up the regular season next Saturday at the Shankroff Tennis Center against Hood College.
