Six Goals for Hathaway, Hat Tricks from Zimmerman and Venezia for A Comeback Win

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team put their second MAC Commonwealth win away on Saturday afternoon with a 16-10 victory over Albright. Brittany Hathaway tallied a personal season-high of eight points, including six goals and two assists. Veronica Venezia followed right behind with seven points, netting three goals, and handing out four assists. Sydney Zimmerman put out her third hat trick of the season and tallied an assist. 
 
Lebanon Valley (6-5 Overall, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) put up a full team effort to take the comeback win over the Albright Lions (2-8 Overall, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth). The Dutchmen were down 3-0 with 12:36 in the first quarter but were able to get on the board at 12:03 with a goal from Emily Beard. Succeeding Beard's goal, four Lebanon Valley players contributed goals to tie the contest 6-6 with seven minutes remaining in the second quarter. LVC continued to hold the Lions at six points, while putting away eight goals and finished the third quarter 14-6. Lebanon Valley continued to fight on both the offensive and defensive ends to take the 16-10 conference win. 
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Hathaway led the way for the Dutchmen on attack, again topping goals on the afternoon for both teams. Hathaway put away six goals and dished out two assists. 
  • Venezia had another strong game for LVC. The graduate student netted three goals and laid out four assists in the match-up. 
  • Zimmerman had her second straight four-point contest, as she put up a hat trick and handed out an assist
  • Livia Jackson, Julia Gabriel, and Beard each contributed a two-point game. Beard and Jackson both put two goals in the back of the cage, as Gabriel gave two assists. 
  • Julia Abendschoen was solid in cage making 18 saves on the afternoon. 
  • Lebanon Valley out shot Albright 43-35 overall, 33-28 on goal. 
 
Who's Next
The Dutchmen will stay at home this week for another MAC Commonwealth match-up on Wednesday against Eastern University. First Draw is slated for 4:00 PM.
